Well before your 18^th birthday, you can already start to achieve your driving license. In short you can basically:

from the age of 16, already take your theoretical examination
from 16 ½ years old, already start taking driving lessons
from the age of 17, already take your practical examination
from 17 till 18 years old, drive independently when you have passed your exams, with a self chosen coach.
